DS Smith is a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, supported by recycling and paper making operations. Headquartered in London and a member of the FTSE 100, DS Smith focuses on creating innovative sustainable packaging solutions in 37 countries employing around 31,000 people. An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a corporate/commercial lawyer to join our legal team in London. As part of a team with responsibility for legal matters across all our divisions and jurisdictions, you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of matters including M&A transactions, commercial contracts, legal compliance (including competition, ABC and GDPR), projects and disputes. You will work closely with the legal team in London and globally, our business colleagues, and functional specialists at the head office. Some travel will be required due to the global nature of the business.
We are a lean, collaborative and fast paced organisation and are looking for a team player who is comfortable with taking on new challenges, and able to deliver commercially focused advice within tight timelines. Ideally you will have gained at least a year of corporate experience with a leading firm, as well as some general commercial experience, for example from a secondment. This is an outstanding opportunity to make a first move in-house from private practice, but applications will also be considered from those with experience working in another leading in-house team.
