LEGAL COUNSEL – FAST GROWING FINANCIAL SERVICES COMPANY
Location: London
Job Level: Legal Counsel
Our client is a leading foreign exchange company. Having listed on the London Stock Exchange a few years ago, the company is growing fast and has achieved year on year growth of more than 50% since launch; it has ambitious plans to maintain that success in the years ahead. Committed to having the best people, the company believes strongly that great people, with passion, make for an exceptional business. It is constantly looking for ways to evolve its approach, from recently moving into stunning new offices, to empowering the team to take responsibility for how they deliver.
The business has reached the point where there is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified lawyer to join as its second lawyer. Reporting to the General Counsel and working closely with colleagues across the business, you will get involved in a variety of legal and commercial matters which underpin it. This will include a whole plethora of issues, from drafting and negotiating a range of documents and agreements, dealing with the international network and financial services regulation to day to day legal and commercial advice, which could include employment and litigation matters.
Our client is looking for someone who has around 0-2 years’ post qualification experience, which includes banking and finance experience. You will currently be working inhouse or with a leading law firm and have had secondment experience. In this role you will be dealing with a range of corporate, finance and commercial issues, as well as company secretarial and corporate governance matters. Experience of banking and financial services will be a significant advantage and some experience of MiFID and EMIR would be useful.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic and growing business where there are significant opportunities to learn and make a difference. Our client is looking for a capable and business-minded lawyer who has the credibility and personality to fit in with people at all levels. Competitive remuneration is on offer and a significant percentage of the team have an equity interest in the business, which the person in this role should aspire to realise as well.
